The best settings for overnight analysis may be far from being the best at tournament TC, and those in turn far from being the best at Blitz. CM 5555 is a good example; its relative strength decreases when going from 40/120 on 233 MHz to 40/120 at 400 MHz. CM6666 may suffer from the same problems (it is optimized for 40/120 on my 550 MHz machines). My personal opinion is that for overnight analysis, a high selectivity is indeed the best choice. You might wish to experiment by setting the Selective Search to something higher than 10. You can do this by editing the .cmx file with a hex editor and increasing the value of byte $50. You may also want to change the max depth in the same way by increasing the value of byte $34. These manipulations have not been thoroughly tested, though. In fact, I don't even know if CM will actually differentiate between SS=10 and higher values as the latter are not "officially" supported. --- Shep
