There are a number of features that are implied as being present in CS Tal II
that are not, having been dropped from CS Tal I. The ability to build your own
opening books is one, while the ability to construct various playing styles by
changing various weights and extensions is another. The database, I believe, has
also been deleted.

I ordered CS Tal II from Gambitsoft, fully expecting these features. Their web
page quotes from an ad from Oxford Softworks, one sentence of which states that
"A sophisticated user interface with high degree of customisation provides
access to all the features available in the top chess programs." Moreover,
nothing on their web pages states that the above features have been removed.
Accordingly, it is, IMHO, clearly false advertising.

I finally did get satisfaction from Oxford Softworks, in the form of CS Tal for
DOS. I have not, however, figured out to design new books for the program,
though the documentation clearly maintains that this is possible.
