Steve, The other respondents are giving you more detailed and reliable advice. I will just note that I was able to put the Fritz 5.32 engine into my Hiarcs 7.32 "engines" folder, and it works OK if I combine their "engine.ini" files into one "engine.ini" file, as follows: [Hiarcs732-B] Contempt2=28017 [Fritz532-B] Contempt2=25234 [Fritz532] Contempt value=15 Aggressiveness=0 Selectivity=2 HashSize=3072 These values get modified further if you change the engine parameters from within the user interface. But it seemed to help initialization to have the file to start with in this format. Other engines can also be added, reportedly, although I haven't tried it. I understand that it usually just involves putting the engine file (.eng) along with sometimes a corresponding dll file (.dll) into the engines folder. Then the user interface recognizes it and makes it available for loading. I also understand that these engines are being traded via the newsgroups (bulletin boards/Usenet), although that is presumably a no-no copyrightwise. --JRM
