Hi Mark,
I'm no expert, but maybe this is relevant...
I installed Hiarcs 7.32 initially. I then copied the Fritz 5.32 engine ("Fritz
5-32.eng") into the "Engines" folder. Both Hiarcs 7.32 and Fritz 5.32 have an
associated "Engines.ini" file, and I found that they work OK if I combined them
into one composite "Engines.ini" file with the following contents:
[Hiarcs732-B]
Contempt2=28017
[Fritz532-B]
Contempt2=25234
[Fritz532]
Contempt value=15
Aggressiveness=0
Selectivity=2
HashSize=3072
Fritz and Hiarcs both work OK thereby, otherwise there was some kind of
initialization problem. The "Engines.ini" file will be modified thereafter if
you change the engine parameters from within the user interface.
Could prior versions of Fritz be added also? I have no idea. It would just be
my suggestion to install the latest software first (Hiarcs 7.32), and add other
engines to that installation as possible. It might work less well if you use
your prior installation of an earlier version of Fritz as your platform (?).
