Yes, you need 2 PCs and the auto232 bundle. It is about DM150 and contains the
driver for almost each chess DOS-program and a special cable for connecting the
2 PCs. Current WIndows chess programs don't need the DOS-auto232-drivers, you
only need to connect the 2 PCs via cable and have control within the programs.

i don't understand what you mean with timestamps? The time delay between a
finished and a new game? Some windows programs handle this on their own if they
use the give-up, but generally it must be clear if a program has given up,
claimed for a win or draw, still thinks or crashed. So in this case the delay
makes MUCH sense.
