First off, I strongly doubt that you have played more games against computers than I have. I have been playing computers almost as long as I have been playing chess (almost 20 years). I have written programs, written opening books for serious programs (NOW, by Mark Lefler, when it competed in the Harvard Cup), and played tens of thousands of games (literally) against a variety of gprograms. Even with this kind of experience, I still get smashed regularly by good programs. They are simply much better than a USCF 2150-2200 type like me. By extension, it appears clear that they are even *more* superior to a 1616. It is very hard to believe that you can beat them. You must prove this to us. I am happy for you that you will be able to devote more time to chess, but if you are going to post such messages on here, you will need to prove what you say. For us to give any credence at all to what you say, you will need to either submit games against a program that can be verified, or preferably play on ICS against Crafty, as Bob Hyatt has offered. Believing in yourself is fine. Saying that you can handily beat every program out there requires more than that...it requires proof. You have been offered the chance to prove yourself. Crafty (or another program) could be made available virtually any time to play you. Please indicate one of the following: 1. "I will play Crafty on such a date" 2. "I will submit verifiable games that I have played to prove my claim" 3. "I refuse to play, and therefore admit that what I said before wasn't true, and that I recognize that I'd get smashed by a good program under equal conditions" You did, after all, ititiate this with your claims. If you are going to make these claims you need to back them up; not back out with excuses like "My program isn't ready to play in public yet" ...if you can't prove the clathen please don't waste our time here by making it.
