I think that the programs and programmers deserve all the praise in the world.
But the objection that Dave had is:
"The program would have done 'such and such' given more time." is clearly not
decided, any more than:
"The chess expert would have done 'such and such' given more time."
In any case, the outcome is not clear in either direction.

Any computer program that can play on any level with the best GM's in the world
is both a work of science and a work of art.
