Subject: Search Depth in CM6000?

Hi guys,
I set up a position, I ask different programs to anayse it, after 15minutes I
get the following depth of search results (all are approximate)

Fritz 5.32 13/28
Hiarcs 7.32 9/31
Nimzo 11/26

These are saying Brute force search/length of longest extension. Correct?

Junior 25

This is the longest extension searched. Correct?

Rebel 12

Brute force depth. The warroom says 15/13/37, current move being analysed 13,
average depth was 13, furthest extension 37. Correct?

CM6000 3/13 (ss is set at 10)

Here's my real query:
Surely this can't be brute force 3, furthest extension 13 (that would take Fritz
or even Hiarcs .5 second).

The CM6000 manual says it is Selective search for three plys & brute force for
plys 4 through 13.
Surely that can't be right, a selective search for the first three plies must
miss opportunities.

I have wondered about this since CM4000.

Any advice is appreciated,

Tina Long
