However, >it is clear that all modern players with a title of IM or better are better than >the players who existed before Steinitz won the first official world chess >championships. in a match of any resonable duration morphy would beat kasparov ,fischer ,deep blue , karpov ,annand ,and anyone else you could think of .the thing was morphy was it ,he was it at every thing he did his IQ must have been 190 + .if he were to play deep blue like kasparov did .morphy would have won , he would have been able to realize what he was playing , how it was playing ,figured out weak spot and killed it .people tend to over estimate the best players of the day and under estimate players from yester year .thats true in all sports not just chess .it may work that way with computers .computer A can search 250,000 to computer B 15 then there is a problem .
