Certainly possible. In fact, in the early 90's Richard Lang of Genius fame
contracted to port an early engine to be distributed on all Psion 3 organizers.

Not probable. Handheld apps tend to run cheap, $10-$50 typically. An author
probably won't recoup much of his engineering effort in such a small market.
Especially with a $15 shareware program already out there which will satisfy 90%
of the user base.

But we can dream. :) Lang, give us MicroGenius! Morsch, give us Fritz Jr!

In the meantime, wait for PocketChess 2.0. It will have a new engine
incorporating many modern search techniques (compared to the 80's vintage SCP
engine it had before).
