Subject: Scoring Wins and Draws

Hi all,

Some previous post (from today) Robert Hyatt was talking about hes efforts to
make Crafty avoid "Drawish Styles", he said that with this "non-drawish
style" Crafty could lose some games, but would win much more.
(I hope i made a reasonable translation of bobs thoughts, if don't excuse me)

This "Non-drawish style" must be rewarded in the score, for example:

A win scores 1.5
A draw scores .5
A lose scores 0

The consecuences are very interesting, supose the last round of a tournament,
if you lead by .5, you cant be safety with a draw, because of the 1.5 points
if the other behind you wins, you must play to win.

This way, a player who plays to win, in general, will win more points.

This would impact directly to playing styles in both, humans and machines,
rewarding those who plays to win.

We will see or play more interesting games.

just a thought
