Yes. This is an artefact of the information he is outputting, rather than
his approach to search. I'd agree with Dave; it looks like he's using MTD(f),
and his driver is moving the guess up and down in small steps - this is very
much like what the example on Aske Plaat's web page does. Notice that he is
using the final score from the previous iteration for his first guess (f).
