I think there is next to no correlation at all. For example, Junior has a good SSDF result and plays excellent chess, yet scores below average on LCT 2 (the same for Fritz), whereas Hiarcs scores excellently in both fields. (The former also goes for Chessmaster 5555 and the latter for Chess Tiger - if they were rated by SSDF, that is.) I used to consider LCT 2 the Holy Grail of strength assessment when I got started in computer chess, but now it is only interesting to see _how many_ positions are solved and how the really tough ones are handled. The actual score does not matter much anymore (but yes, I keep posting it anyway :-). --- Shep
