But you can use the tbpath= option to change that to anything you like(in the crafty.rc file). trojan check is a variable that will stop crafty from falling for the trojan horse attack, although it might make it play funny in some rare positions. I am not even sure that crafty.rc works with the chessbase code, however, so 'caveat emptor'...
