The position is difficult not only for you to understand, because Kasparov said: "With my limited knowledge of the game...". Maybe Ponomariov is the only that knows about this, because he forced this complex and unknow line to play. I would be surprised if any program evaluates this position favorable to black, because white have aproximately +2.00 points in material and don't have any way to change this with tactics or positional moves, even in a higth depth.
