Hi CCC Here is my list of the top programs and How they remind me of Certain great Human Masters of the Past. 1. Rebel10 - I cannot resist the temptation to compare this programs Playing style with fischer, It has a great grasp of positional play mixed with a nice touch of tactical wizardly. A mixture of capablanca and alekhine which chracterized fischers play. 2. Chessmaster 6000- Anyone that has expierence with CM will no doubt agree that the only Human grandmaster to compare it to is none other than the Great Mikhail Tal!!!. It is simply astouding to watch chessmaster brilliancies, one can expect atleast 2 brilliant game out of five when chessmaster plays. Actually it is quite surprising the things that chessmasters can come up with during a chess game. Like tal CM never fails to entertain. 3. Fritz5.32- This Program reminds me of Lasker it often plays lousy in the opening and gets losing positions only to miraculously come back and win the game! Ofcourse it's endgame is no where near the strength of Lasker, but it seems to possess the Solid Defensive capabilites that Lasker was known for. 4. Genius5- Genius plays alot like capablanca and Karpov, extremely boring chess! It will not attack, and sits back and waits for it's opponent to make a mistake, not very exciting to watch. But has a very strong endgame and will grind down it's opponents, or simply put it's opponents to sleep with it's boring play. 5. Junior5 I have not played to many games against Junior, But so far I would say that it Plays sort of like David Bronstein, A tactical Genius with a very fine postional grasp. Junior has a romantic style of play, it always steers it's opponents into wild tactical positions (atleast it is true for me). Ofcourse I realize that all these players I mention are far Stronger than the programs I have mentioned, but in my humble opinion these programs often manifest the sytles of the above Great Human masters!.
