Actually, this was written for a pre-Apple II machine.  I'm having a brain-
burp and can't remember the machine.  I think it is in Zilog assembly (Z-8??)
but may have been for the Commadore PET.  I'll look it up later.

For Sources,
  Go to Amazon and search Computer Chess.  That will give you a list of books
that you can take to you local library and order through interlibrary loan.
Most of this information is still quite out of date.

The best resources are
1) the ICCA Journal Back Issues -- which I wish were on a
   CD Rom and cost less than $450 or so to get
2) Several of the simpler chess programs source code -- TSCP is popularly
   suggested
3) Crafty source which is more complex but I found very helpful when addressing
  specific questions.  (It gets much easier to understand the 50th or 60th time
  through)  : )
4) And specific questions asked in this forum.  Thanks Steve.
