I am thinking of running a set of games from random start up positions? And would like some suggestions on different starts to begin with! If any one has some fischer positions they can send me I will start this weekend? Is there a large number of initial positions? Guess Twenty would be a large enough number to start a test set, for the various programs! Is this a good idea, or bad?? Would this be of any use whatsoever? All the engines I have, that I can run, will be on the Fritz interface, and will be on two machines, level 40/40, or game in 1 hour! This should be enough time to give an indication of playing strenth. Seeing how both programs will be on thier own from the very start! Chris Taylor Notts England
