Voyager is _absolutely_ crafty unless it has been changed in the past 6
months. Send me a copy of the executable you are using and I can tell you
in 1 hour whether it is crafty or not. The last time this came up it was
absolutely verified... I took the executable apart and looked at the
character constants, the bitboard masks, the bitboard patterns, the procedure
names, global variable names... filenames, contents of the files the program
produces...

it was crafty...

I can change one line of crafty and make it play differently. This isn't the
point. As I said, send me the executable, and I can resolve this quickly.

the programmer didn't 'look at the source code'. the programmer copied 100%
of the source code, made language conversions from English to German, and then
a few small tweaks to the search and eval... that is _not_ a new program. It
is a modified crafty.

It wasn't an 'attack'. It was a simple statement of _fact_. As I said, this
became 'news' many months ago. I doubt anyone has forgotten.

Fair wasn't the issue. "truth" was.... and what I said was true 6 months
ago. I doubt a new strong program has been written since that 'copy' was
exposed to everyone...

Nope. I don't "think" I "prove". Send the executable. There are easy
tests to apply to make the point or show I am wrong...

I understand that he knows how to copy an existing chess program. I don't
know anything else about him. I do know that his 'voyager' program was
absolutely crafty. Didn't even change the procedure names or anything else.

I have never seen an atomic bomb explode. But I trust the physicists that
design them when they say they make big boom noises...

No need. He knows what he did...
