simplest is at the top of Search() and Quiesce() do nodes++;

this ought to work just fine.  I use PVS as well...  and all your q-search
has to do is either fail high or fail low...  just like that is all that
the normal search does on non-PV moves...

If you want to post an outline of your quiesce() module, we can all look at
it for you...
