Hello all, I read many posts regarding the "Skibbe-Koch-Quisinsky Winboard Tournament 5", some of them complained about the validity of the setup (ponder on vs. ponder off, one machine vs two machines, Crafty clones!?, etc.) IMO those complaints miss the point of the tournament, it was held for fun and for producing data (= games). I was happy that the organizers invited my program (Bringer) to take part, they did all the work and produced 936 (40/40) computer chess games which are useful input for the programmers (BTW, are they allowed to publish the games, I hope so). Some of the programmers are from Europe, it is much too expensive for us to play on the servers. The 144 games of my engine are of great value for finding bugs, it would take about 4 weeks (!) to produce that amount of data myself. Another comment: Bringer finished in the last place and lost its match against Crafty with 0 - 12 (no draws), this should prove that it is not a Crafty clone :-) Thank you Kai, Christian, Frank for the tournament, I am looking forward to the next one, Greetings, Gerrit
