"Chess System Tal Version 2.50 pre-alpha version for download only by
bone-fide chess program developers who have already purchased a copy of
CSTal II..CSTal II support files are required for proper operation.
CSTal 2.50 forms the basis of Oxford Softworks designs for Chess System Tal
III. Chess System Tal III will be an open-format multiple engine, N-Brain
and user interface system, using Windows 95/98/NT. Operation is fully
Windows compatible and multi-threaded.
CSTal 2.50 comes with multiple engines and N-Brain engine choosers .. This
version is a sampler, Oxford Softworks expects to release open-format source
code for any bone-fide developer to use to:
add engines to CSTal III
display information from an added engine in the interface
allow for development of intelligent N-Brain choosers
add chess position specific elements such as opening books, end game
table bases, king-pawn handlers, middlegame handlers and so on.
Oxford Softworks expects that its unique king-attack, knowledge based
engine, in combination with the N-Brain chooser and other fast, technically
competent engines to be a potent challenger for strongest computer chess
player of all time.
