Huh???? Orders of magnitude? This is plain wrong.
If you are playing Crafty with xboard it is enough to do something like

winboard -fcp "wcrafty hash=24M hashp=4M cache=2M egtb"
and *no* crafty.rc will make crafty playing much better.
