Apple has given us the fastest, most advanced chip yet. I think that even the older versions of chess programs (HIARCS7.0 for Mac) will defeat non-Mac based top programs running on a PIII. Programmers really should port their products to take advantage of Apple's new G4 chip. I suspect that if Apple were just a little more popular, it would be common knowledge that the G-chips are the best processor to run chess programs.
