That's a tough question. For HIARCS 7.0 on both platforms, it is easy - the G3 runs HIARCS 7.0 about 38% faster*, which is worth 28-33 points (if you believe the HIARCS author or the SSDF). But I don't know how to compare HIARCS 7.32 vs. 7.0 HIARCS 7.01 (not available on the Mac) is said to be 2% faster than HIARCS 7.0 - so that isn't much of a difference > >Is the G3 a better processor for chess? Depends on the program - it works very well for HIARCS, but the Crafty benchmarks weren't impressive.
