Hi Jean,
A book that you must have and has everything you will need to become a good
player is: "How To Reassess Your Chess" by Jeremy Silman. This book offers a
complete step-by-step course. This book is quoted by some Grandmasters as the
most fundamentally important middlegame book since Nimzovich's "My System" which
was considered one of the best books ever written on the middlegame of chesss!
Another great point is that Jeremy Silman is a world class teacher, writer, and
player who has won the American Open, the National Open, and the U.S.Open.
He has been the coach of the United States delegation to the World Junior
Championship for several years! All this puts together a great book that was
written by someone who knows how to teach chess and get the point across!!
I want to make note that i also have the book and it gave me "new insight"
about the game of chess and improved my game dramatically!!!

Best Regards and good luck,
Terry Ripple
