Shredder has done consistently well at the WMCCC events.  I have no reason to
doubt that all iterations of it are very strong indeed.  In fact, it is probably
among the most underrated programs. [IMO-YMMV]

The most underrated program is probably the ChessMaster series, when it comes to
playing strength per dollar (unless you consider crafty since that ratio is
infinite).  OTOH, there are a small number of vocal advocates for ChessMaster.

Different people want different things from their chess programs.  Underrated in
terms of what?  Playing strength?  Analysis capability?  Visual appearance?
