It depends on what you want to do with your computer chess. If you want to play
games. Then CM6000 is in the top three engines in strength in the world for a
PC. It has been ranked number one on the SSDF ranking list. It has user friendly
features and makes Chess More fun to play that other programs which are aimed at
the more serious chess player, not for the masses who want to enjoy chess.

That said chess master does analyse games, it teavhes you, and is one of the
strongest.

So unless you are planning to play chess seriously and plan to use the extra
features aim at players who want to be more flexable in storing their games and
anyalysing their games. Then buy the Chessmaster range which is way cheaper.

Cost does not show quality in this case. Chessmaster is marketed by a large
company (mindscape)which make many other programs, not like the others who
specialise only in chess so their market is smaller and have to charge more for
their programs.
