Subject: What's a good strong stand alone?

I have been looking for the best in stand alone chess computers and it
seems now the R30 is no longer an option. I understand that these
machines don't pack the punch that the top PC programs do. I have
both Fritz 5 and Chessmaster 6000. But I would still like a computer
that I can set up and play with pieces witout having to fuss with the
PC.
I've played some with the older Mephisto models that have the LED on each
square and I don't really care for that. The R30 was an exception
because it had 4 LED's per sqaure. I also don't care much for machines
that only report the move on a display screen. Actually coordinate
lights are quite suitable.
I was wondering about the Karpov Grandmaster. How strong is it? I would like
to find one that exceeds 2400 uscf. Does anyone
know if the Mephisto Milano Pro is still available?
