It is the difference between a limited and an unlimited event. If the goal of a tournament is to see who wins on a standard PC, that's a fine goal for a tournament. It was not the goal for this tournament. The goal for this tournament was to see who can win on a computer, no matter what computer. In the past there have been custom built machines, there have been gigantic mainframe machines, there have been massively parallel machines. The goal isn't to produce the best software necessarily, the goal is to create the strongest system that you possibly can. It is not necessary that this system be affordable by the governments of small countries, much less by individual end-users. bruce
