Chris, It simply is not possible to categorically state that one program is the strongest. There are too many variables such as different time limits, different computers, different opening books etc. A program that may excel at blitz chess may do less well at long times, a program that beats another on 200 mhz computers may lose when both programs are played on 400 mhz hardware. On top of that, testing the playing strength of the top programs involves hundreds of games even within the same set of variables. However, if you have Hiarcs 7.32 you certainly have one of the candidates for that elusive title among commercially available programs. Not that it should matter. For the purposes of most players the playing strength differences among the top 8 or 10 programs are not significant. All of tham will win almost all the games against most players. eric
