The last time someone recommended a book "How Computers Play Chess" by David
Levy and Monty Newborn, it turned out to be out of print! But if you go to the
"resource center" there's a lot of good links. I've got a few things collected
on my web page at http://members.xoom.com/avochess/avochess.htm but the resource
center probably has many more than I do. I think somewhere in there there's a
link with lists of publications.

A good small program that pretty much only comes as code is Tom Kerrigan's TSCP,
there's allot of links going to Tom's page (I have a link to it) is a good thing
to get hold of for a code example.
