Go up one level in this thread

I quit using HIARCS 7.32 after losing one totally won game and drawing another
against Fritz 5.32. In one game it was up 4 pawns to 2 (two were passed) and
showing a hugh plus score and then to my amazement it repeated the position 3
times and drew. In the other game it was again up with a big plus score ( a
class B player could have won easily ) and then again to my amazement it pitched
a piece and Fritz eventually mated it. I've never seen anything like it. If
there were something "wrong" with my machine or HIARCS 7.32 settings why does it
play brilliantly ( or at least very strong ) to get these won positions and then
blow them. By the way I played HIARCS 732 on my PIII-550 w/128meg ram against
Fritz 532 on my PII-366 Dell Laptop w/64 meg. Some may think I'm slamming HIARCS
but I'm not. I bought it w/great anticipation but so far I've been disappointed.
One more thing: When I play HIARCS 7 (DOS version) on my 550 against Fritz on
the laptop H7 wins most of the time and has never blown a won game.
