Of course it makes sense. It is just a different computer science experiment
that tries to answer the question of how to write software for a parallel
machine. If you look at it from the viewpoint of a chess software "consumer", it
is not particularly relevant. Very few "consumers" have a multiple cpu machine.
From the viewpoint of computer science the experiment is very relevant and
completely valid. It makes all the sense in the world. Parallel computing does
not have to justify itself to "consumers". That's missing the point I think.
