Your choice will depend on the strength you want, price range and style. Does
it matter to you that you have to punch in the moves as in a calculator unit? Or
do you want the peg style with tiny sets? Do you want a strong unit that will be
beneficial to you in the long run or something that you can beat sometimes?
I have Sapphire II which is the strongest portable chess computer in the
world. I am completely satisfied with it and would buy Sapphire III without a
thought whenever it comes out.

Novag Sapphire II 2112 SSDF, 2168 Selective Search Rating (SSR), 2200 Chess
Magazine Estimate (CME), Calculator
Saitek Cosmos 1978 SSDF for an older model, 2032 SSR, 2120 CME, Peg with lid
Novag Amber 2005 SSR, Peg with lid
Novag Opal Plus 1680 CME Peg
Novag Amethyst Plus 1540 CME Peg with lid
Saitek Bullet 1400 CME Peg with lid

Viper 120E
Escort 127E

Sapphire II and Amber programs are by Kittinger and Cosmos program is by
Morsch. Both are very well respected programmers. You can get more info from the
links below and of course from ICD. I hope this helps.
