Subject: Bionic Impakt

I just happened to read at the WinBoard forum that Bionic will not be
participating at this year's Dutch Open since the author of DIEP complained
about clones. Which set me of thinking.....at least the authors of Bionic were
honest enough to declare that they had cloned Crafty to an extent. What if some
other programmers didn't? Would it be possible for the tournament directors to
find out? Is it possible to develop a clone detector application to determine if
a program is a clone of Crafty? .... since Crafty is the only quality engine
with source code for download.
