James, The Dutch Open Computer Chess Championship is played over two weekends, October 30/31 and November 6/7 in Leiden, The Netherlands. If you would like to participate you will have to be quick, Theo van der Storm would like to hear about entries september 17th the latest. His e-mail adres is on his homepage: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/thstorm/ I hope there will be more information about the tournament there soon also. Technically you would have to become a member of the CSVN and the operator also has to be a member. Theo wanted to know: * Name of program, programmers and operators. * Correspondence and e-mail address. * Technical requirements (telephone-lines,Telnet/Internet) There are only limited possibilities for this. * Indication of playing strength, some games for instance. * Type of computer, number of processors. * Used algorithms, OS, programming language and compiler. * Size of program (number of lines sourcecode) and the number of positions in the opening book. There is also a parallel tournament for end-users and their computers, in the first weekend, where people with a PC program that is not in the top 50 of the SSDF could enter, for which people could contact Ries van Leeuwen, mvlcsvn@hetnet.nl also by september 17th. He then makes a choice out of the entries because this is meant also as an event where you can see some old computers and faces again. Maybe somebody who is more involved in the tournament can help you further.
