This issue should be treated carefully. While it is true that the main source of
strength improvement in the last years comes from the improvement of the speed
of the computers, the software itself has been greatly improved too.

I don't know exactly what this professor said, but if he says that there have
been no improvements in software he is wrong.

If he says that improvement comes mainly from improvement in hardware, he is
right.

But software is improved every day too, no doubt.
