It wasn't then, but I wonder now. I am convinced that J5 is one of the very best. Why people don't talk more about Junior 5 is a mystery to me. When I get a new program, the first opponent I make it play with is J5. For instance, I got these results with Nimzo 7.32 at game/25 on a PII-400 with 64 MB ht for each engine, all with a fresh General book of Fritz: N732-J5 6-8 N732-H732 15.5-14.5 N732-F532 9-9 N732-C16.6 11-3 As usual, Junior 5 was a tough nut to crack. In the mammoth tournament I finished in January, Junior ended up second, but it was my "in pectore" winner.
