Chess Base Magazine comes out about every 2 months. It has about 1250 games, of
which around 2/3rd's are annotated in words & variations. Also included is a
video file of the main event, a tactics database, a middle-game databae, an
endgame database, a computer database & a correspondence database. (some months,
some of these things are alternated). It also comes with a small booklit with
the highlights of the CD. Someone here did an excellent review of this product,
so check the ICD archives.

I think its a much better value than the informant. It cost about $140.00 US
for a one year subscription, or about $29.00. Issue 58 for instance had a lot
about the Kasparov versus Deep Blue match, that I don't recall seeing anywhere
else. (Especially, Kaspparov trying to explain what was going on in each game,
while gobaling his food at a local NY restaurant:).

All of the games ultimately become intergrated into Megabase, so this is a good
way to build a 'killer' database. Also all of the games are catagorised by
medals & theme keys, so you can easily search useing the included Chess Base
Lite.
