Hallo! It`s much more boring to see a program with a narrow book and no learner LOSE five times in a row. A few years ago it´was almost impossible to play a match over 20 games (without doubles) because of the narrow books and people complained a lot more when the program only played a handul of opening-lines. A huge book and a learner to avoid losing the same game over and over is of course what should be the standard of todays programs. >I think that 99% of the customers are more interested in the level of the >engines and not in the level of the programs in long matches when the learning >functions may be dominant. Yes of course but two programs with a good book and a good learner and the match starts from zero again, instead of two programs that play only a few openings. +program when the human can help >the program in the first 10 moves. Everyday something new! Regards Bertil SSDF >Uri
