For those who like to solve an unusual mate position here is the next one. This is not that simple to find since this is the mate in 8 moves. Black goes and mate. Beyond the fun those positions are the best way to spot the bugs in the code. With positional move you can never say where your moves generator lies to you. With inevitable mate position you can verify it and feel you good. White pieces: 1) Queens: F7,G7,H7,E6,F6,H6,F5,G5,H5. 2) King on G6. Black pieces: 1) Rooks: C7,D7.C4. 2) Knights: G3,H3. 3) Queens: F3,D2,E2,F2,F1. 4) Bishops: B2,A1,B1. 5) King: D1. I verified the position today. On AMD 400Mhz logic says that mate in 7 move do not exist. Took 9 minutes 5 second to say this. Solution in 8 moves was found through the brute force in 1 minute and 8 sec. Through "quick logic" solution in 8 moves was found in 0.3 sec. Take care! This position can bring down your best game. Leonid.
