> What's your opinion of CM6000? does it play like a human? Well, my kids love it, especially the personalities they set up to play against. I liked Josh Waitzkin game stories, it's nice to hear his thoughts as the game unfolds. As to playing style of CM6000, I find it boring, a typical computer chess in the old meaning of that term, poor engame, no strategy. (When I wish to play a strong tactical program, Fritz and Rebel 10c are more fun to play against.) I also don't like its user interface, or its database, one can sense on every turn too much influence of the marketing people with their glitter and gimmicks (I guess kids still get impressed by such stuff, but then they are also impressed by Furby, bean-bag babies, Pokoman cards etc), instead of the chess players. I suppose, one needs one or two such products out there. The fact that it is at the top of SSDF just shows how much they have detiorated in their methodology of testing. (That list used to be quite useful 5-6 years ago.)
