My guess would be that this is just a bug in the way mate scores are relayed from the engine to the interface. (I once saw a Mate in 86 announced by Hiarcs 6 in the Fritz 5.16 GUI). As long as Nimzo is able to pursue the mate and does not stop too early at "Mate in 0", thinking that it has mated, it is not a really serious engine bug. I have also occasionally seen Nimzo 99 announce too short mates, but never took it seriously. :) --- Shep
