On the chessbase site you can see this discussion of "engine research operating system", which looks pretty interesting, but I'll be damned if there's an easy, documented way to ask one of the chessbase engines to take an epd position and return some results. Rebel can even take an epd string right on the command line... way better. Does anyone know if there is some end-user COM-based interface so that it would be possible to pass in a position and get analysis info back? At least then one could hack up a VB program to talk to it quickly. Dave
