(1) read the documentation for them. It is on my ftp machine in the TB
directory (tbgen.zip).  This includes source code and a small writeup.

(2) look at crafty's source, module=probe.c.  That should be easy to modify
to fit your program's way of storing the position, then you are set and ready
to go...
