Hello Terry, I have run several hundred games at Blitz to test the difference between the two computers. It comes out to about 40 points advantage for the K6-3-450 in computer/computer testing. This would make a difference of about 0.5 points in 10-12 games. This small number of games is not sufficient to tell which program is strongest with any degree of certainty so I decided to ignore it. I know that CSTal-2 likes the K6-3 and so does Hiarcs. The gain in speed by both programs is more than the 35% increase of the clock. I did this not to assign any rating to either program but to show the style of CSTal-2 and to just get an idea if it could compete with Hiarcs 7.32. I think if you look at the games closely you will see a definite "Style" to CSTal-2 play. They both had access to about 2 gig of tablebases (Hiarcs used compressed and CSTal-2 used uncompressed). The uncompressed tablebases are just another small reason I'm unhappy with CSTal-2 in it's present form. The CSTal-3 I hope will have all these things fixed. Jim Walker
