I don't test 2 windows versions much. However I have played quite a lot
Rebel-Shredder (2 and 3) games. From time to time I see Shredder 2
and 3 crash (this programs caused an illegal operation etc).  I have also
seen (many times) the graphical board of Shredder 2 and 3 being totally
corrupted with weird ASCII characters. Still Shredder happily plays its
games while something obvious is broken.

I never have seen such a thing playing Shredder manually. It's my opinion
it's entirely auto232 related. 2 weeks ago I stopped a Rebel Century -
Shredder3 match after the score was 30-6 in favour of Rebel Century.
This match score is of course total nonsense. If you wish I can send you
the games. Maybe you can investigate what was going on.

This all reminds me on the article in the ChessBits (issue 1) magazine about
auto232. Several cases were mentioned where it was impossible to reproduce
Shredder moves. Auto232?
