You'll probably enjoy it. Personally, I have no interest in chess computers/software except as an analysis tool, so my opinions are warped in that direction. I do not use them for a chess opponent nor trainer, because at age 60 I am well past the point where chess competition gets my blood moving. I used to enjoy that sort of thing, but a semi-vigorous walk around the neighborhood does a better job these days. I'm one of those who might have a corrupted Hiarcs 7.32 CD, but don't know any way to test that notion. Clearly Hiarcs 7.32 is a strong player as shown by the SSDF rating list at: http://home3.swipnet.se/~w-36794/ssdf/nr000.htm I usually prefer the analysis results that I get with Fritz 5.32 or Chessmaster 6000, but I sometimes compare or confirm with Hiarcs 7.32. You should be prepared for the fact that there is no Hiarcs 7.32 user guide on the CD, and that is not made clear to new users. There is a Fritz manual on the CD and most of the operations work the same, but not all of them. I found the tablebases and their setup very confusing. Be sure to read the clarifications at the ChessBase web site in that regard. I ended up disabling the tablebases because I have no personal need for them and they take a long time to load with my old 2X CD drive. But if you have a fast CD drive that's not a problem. --JRM On September 28, 1999 at 15:29:39, Jeremy McComas wrote: >I just ordered Hiarcs 7.32 and I was wondering what people think of this >program.
