here's the info on time control taken from 2 readme files of previous versions.
Maybe someone can help clarify whether or not the info given contains any
useable commands that can be issued to the engine while it is running via
winboard (ctrl-alt-1 [time command]) I have tried "otime" and "time" without
success
Time control:
Be careful: LITTLE GOLIATH uses two different search algorithms!
A "match search" which is active at sudden death and tournament
mode, and a "normal search" for analysis. The normal search is
active, if ANALYZE mode ist choosen, or if a fixed time limit for
1 (one !!) move is given.
5. LITTLE GOLIATHs time control algorithm seemed to be buggy. But
instead it seems that Winboard (v.4.0.0) includes a fatal bug:
At time control MOVES/TIME (eg. 40 moves / 40 minutes), Winboard
sends the OTIME/TIME command for move no. 41, but the time is
not increased by 40 minutes, so only the time left up to first
time control is send. The result: often only some seconds left for
the next 40 moves. The next commands (for move no. 42) includes
the correct time. This happens not every time, but very often.
Check Goliaths Log-files for details!
